Pakistan had a dominant start to their Asia Cup campaign, defeating Oman by 93 runs. It was a one-sided affair as Pakistan posted a par total of 161 on the board. In reply, Oman failed to build any partnerships despite a decent start and were bowled out for just 67, as Pakistan registered their first points of the continental cup.

Salman Agha Backs Pakistan to Beat Any Team After Dominant Win

A confident Salman Agha, speaking after the win, backed his team to perform under pressure and expressed belief that they can beat any side.

“I think we have been playing really good cricket in the past 2 or 3 months. I've been saying that again and again. We just won a tri-nation series and we won here very comprehensively. So we just need to play good cricket, and if we execute our plan for a longer period, I think we're a good enough team to beat any team,” said Salman Agha in the post-match presentation.

Mohammad Haris: “I’m Ready to Bat Anywhere, Even at No. 10”

Meanwhile, Mohammad Haris was adjudged Player of the Match for his 66 (43) in tough conditions, helping his team post a competitive total. Haris, who has been a floater for Pakistan in the middle order, said he’s ready to bat wherever the team needs and is comfortable taking on an aggressive role.

“(On batting position) No, whatever the team demands from me, I'm ok with it — even if the team tells me that you're batting at 10th in the next match, I'm ok with it. (On aggressive batting) Yeah, that's what I was doing for the last 5 to 6 years for Pakistan and for different teams in PSL. So that's what I like and it’s my strength as well. And secondly, the skipper also instructed all the players that we have to be aggressive,” said Mohammad Haris.

Pakistan will face India next in Dubai. Both teams have won their opening matches. However, despite the high stakes, the crowd turnout at the stadium has been lower than usual for this rivalry. Dubai Stadium still has nearly half the tickets available, as many fans are choosing to boycott the match due to national sentiments surrounding the clash between the arch-rivals.
